Republic Administration of the civil protection in the areas of the civil protection:

1. Follows, coordinates and conducts defined policy and directions and provides execution of the Law and other regulations in the civil protection area,
2. Creates a Programme of the Republic civil protection,
3. Makes evaluations of danger on the whole territory of the Republic and proposes the Republic civil protection Plan,
4. Prepare elements of the Republic protection Plan in the civil protection area,
5. Organizes, equips and trains the civil protection units and services, in accordance with the Programme and the Plan of training,
6. Organizes and equips the civil protection units at the Republic level,
7. Carries out selection and leads scientific and searching projects in the field of civil protection,
8. Provides expert support and brings instructions for work of the civil protection bodies in city-municipality,
9. Carries out inspections and supervision,
10. Carries out demining and UXO removal activities,
11. Records the regulated lists and other works in the civil protection area in accordance with the Law.

In the civil protection areas the following measures and activities are carried out:

1. Alarming,
2. Sheltering of people and material and other goods (property),
3. Evacuation,
4. Sheltering of the endangered people and victims,
5. Blackout,
6. Radiological-chemical and biological protection,
7. Protection and rescuing from ruins,
8. Protection and rescuing on and under water,
9. Protection and rescuing from fire,
10. Protection from unexploded ordinance and mines,
11. First (medical) Aid,
12. Protection and rescuing of animals and food of animal origin,
13. Ground sanitation,
14. Protection of the environment,
15. Protection and rescuing in mines,
16. Protection of vegetation and vegetation products.

DPRP Programme that is financed by EC includes preparedness, prevention and means in case of disasters.
